Indian lentils

Ingredients

  • 250 g red lentils
  • 1 liter water
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric
  • 1 olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 salt
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • NaN cloves garlic
  • 1 hot red pepper
  • 1 tbsp Indian Curry Mix
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 fresh coriander

Directions

  1. Boil red lentils in water (optionally with turmeric) about 10 minutes after boiling.
  2. In a pan, heated to medium heat olive oil, cook finely chopped onion with a little salt until light brown.
  3. Add grated ginger, grated garlic and, if desired, hot red pepper and cook for another ~{1-2%minutes}.
  4. Add Indian Curry Mix and stir.
  5. If necessary, add water to the lentils - it should not be too thick and add the mixture with onions. Bring to a boil and cook for ~{1-2%minutes}.
  6. Finish with lemon and, if desired, fresh coriander.
