Turkish lentils

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 head onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 pinch salt
  • NaN cloves garlic
  • 250 g red lentils
  • 4 glasses water
  • 1 tbsp Turkish Spice Mix
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 parsley
  • 1 mint.

    Directions

    1. Heat olive oil on medium heat and put in it finely chopped onion, carrot and a pinch of salt. Cook for ~{5-6%minutes} and add chopped garlic.
    2. Wash and add the red lentils and water. Cook until the lentils are fully cooked - about ~{10-12%minutes} after boiling.
    3. Add Turkish Spice Mix and cook for 5 minutes.
    4. Mash and salt to taste. If necessary, add warm water and bring to a boil again.
    5. Serve with lemon and finely chopped parsley and mint.
